Originally from Wisconsin, Scott moved to Minneapolis in 1991 to attend the University of Minnesota where he received his bachelor's degree in family social science. In 2001, he earned his masters in Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE) from Colorado State University and returned to Minnesota. After some time working in orientation programming and a brief stint at Capella University, Scott fell in love with academic advising while working at the U of M's College of Biological Sciences and Carlson School of Management's undergraduate program. In 2014, he became the U of M Twin Cities Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) director and in 2018 took over both the College in the Schools (CIS) and PSEO programs as the Director of Pre-College Programs. Scott lives in Golden Valley with his husband and their 5lb Yorkie named Tank.
