Rotary International Site Review Team to Visit Minneapolis as Potential Host of the 2029 Convention

Excitement is building as Districts 5580, 5950, 5960 and 6250 welcome the Rotary International Site Review Team for a three-day visit, marking the final consideration of Minneapolis as a potential host for the 2029 Rotary International Convention.

The Rotary International Site Review Team will be welcomed with open arms at the Evening Fellowship Reception on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the Nicollet Island Pavilion. This historic Mississippi riverfront venue offers unparalleled views of Minneapolis' iconic bridges and skyline. The reception, sponsored by Minneapolis Rotary #9, Edina Rotary Club, Edina Morningside Rotary, Rotary Districts 5950, 5960, 5580, 6250, and Meet Minneapolis, promises an evening of mingling with international, state, and local dignitaries, accompanied by live music from renowned musician "St. Paul" Peterson, President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Edina. This event is open to the public, with free parking available. Admission is $25 per person and includes heavy hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Registration link

On Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Edina Country Club, we will be forming receiving line outside of Edina Country Club to wave-in the mini coaches of Rotary VIPs to the Edina Country Club, from 50th Street to the clubhouse on Wooddale Avenue. The lunch and program starts at 11:30 a.m., adjourning promptly at 12:30 p.m. VIP speakers, including Marilyn Carlson Nelson, Co-Owner and Former CEO of Carlson will entertain all in attendance.
