EMRC member Jeremy Newhouse, Senior Vice-President of Operations at MATTER, finishes his daily prayers with these words, "God help me make this day matter for eternity." What matters for Jeremy are people.

Throughout the pandemic, MATTER has continued to partner with Rotary clubs, locally, and internationally, and the NGO Love for Africa, to ship needed medical equipment to Victoria Falls Hospital in Zimbabwe. They finished a second oxygen plant there, so that an ICU could be opened. It was just in time for the COVID pandemic. Currently, MATTER is working with the Rotary Club of Edina and the Rotary Club of Bulawayo on a large hospital project in Bulawayo.

MATTER has planted 15,000 Chaya trees in Zimbabwe, a country of food scarcity. These trees have edible leaves that are a superfood and drought resistant. They plan to plant 120,000 more of them.

Jeremy, his wife, Jessica and their four children, Orion, 10 years, Oscar 7 years, Selah, 5 years, and Keziah, 2 years, will be moving to Victoria Falls on October 29th. He will build Innovation Hubs in schools. There students will learn STEM and STEAM techonologies. Currently, MATTER has 3 Innovation Hubs in  Zimbabwean schools. Jeremry plans to create ten more. He and his family plan to return Minnesota in December of 2022.
