PATRICK D. KENNEDY MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT

7th Annual Edina Morningside Rotary / Pat Kennedy Golf Classic

Good Morning,

We are only 42 days away from our annual golf tournament to raise funds for our outreach grants. Last year was a smashing success and we want to repeat that success again this year.
So, to do that we need golfers and sponsors.
  • First, we are doing really well with sponsors by already raising almost $15,000.00 dollars but my goal is to get to $23,000.00 in sponsorships. Please consider helping us reach this goal. You can call me at 952-649-1525 or email at jim.bizal@bizalbuilt.com with questions or to sign up.  I have attached a doc showing the options.
Thank you for your support and I will see you on June 26th,

Jim Bizal, Golf Event Chair

CITY OF EDINA WANTS YOUR OPINION
The City of Edina seeks input from Rotarians to help shape a local ordinance on carryout bags.

In February, the City Council directed staff to draft a possible update to the City Code to include the requirement that customers pay a fee for any plastic, paper, compostable or reusable bags received when making a purchase. The non-taxable bag fee would be collected and retained by merchants to use at their own discretion. Businesses would report annually to the City how many and what type of bags were distributed.

HIGHWAY 100 CLEANUP
An EMRC Tradition Saturday, May 6, 2023

Bob Schriver greeted Edina High School Global Scholars with vests and plastic bags. Dave Wendt chaffeured volunteers to their sites for cleanup and back to the Edina City Hall parking lot when they were finished. Rain held off so that EMRC members, Edina ABC students, a Southwest High School student, and Global Scholars could do the anthropological work of picking up litter and roadside trash.  43 full bags of trash plus many other larger items were renmoved.   Thank you all!
