EMRC members Jim Bizal and Jeremy Newhouse have been active in getting two international Rotary grants in the past three years. Jim talked about this at the new member orientation. He explained that there are three types of grants:

Types of grants: district grants, small international grants, and global grants:
  • Small District Grants:  $5k to $10k
  • Small International Grants: Total budget must be under $30k.
  • Global Grants: More than $30k. Key requirements: Community assessment done by local Rotary club. MOU signed by both local and international rotary clubs, full global grant application and budget submitted, will be assigned a mentor from district 5950 International Committee, extensive follow-up on finances and outcomes required.
These two grants funded the South Africa Melusi project and the Kenya Cana Hospital project.
