Edina Mayor James B. Hovland and Edina Public Schools Superintendent Stacie Stanley will present the 2024 State of the Community, “Edina: The Next Generation,” Friday, March 8.
 
 
The presentation will be emceed by City Manager Scott Neal and is co-sponsored by the Rotary Club of Edina, Rotary Club of Edina Morningside and Edina Chamber of Commerce. It will be presented at Braemar Golf Course, 6364 John Harris Drive, and recorded for broadcast on Edina TV.
 
The presentation will focus on current projects of the City and school district and ways the two local governments are preparing Edina’s next generation of community leaders. Among other things, Hovland will discuss construction of Fire Station 2 and a new tactical building at the South Metro Public Safety Training Facility and the possibility of a new Art Center inside Hennepin County’s Southdale Library.
 
He will also talk about student members of Edina’s advisory boards and commissions, Police Explorers and the City’s high school internship program.
Cost for the luncheon, which is open to the public, is $35. People may attend the meeting as non-lunching guests for free. Registration is required for either option. 

Doors open and check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. The meeting will begin at noon.

The 2024 State of the City will be recorded and later broadcast on Edina TV and available for streaming online. It will be shown on Edina TV 7 p.m. Mondays, 3 and 11 a.m. Tuesdays, 9 p.m. Thursdays and 5 a.m. and 1 p.m. Fridays through April 5.
