2021 THANKSGIVING BASKETS PROJECT

Hard to believe Thanksgiving is a mere month away! On October 28, Edina Rotary Club will begin the call for canned goods, the opening of an on-line sign up assembly schedule and the timing announcement of the luncheon. At this moment in time, we are excited to gather in-person allowing families to participate in the club family luncheon, organize their assembly teams and socialize. Watch for details beginning next week.

Thanksgiving Baskets is a joint project, a family activity, of the Rotary Clubs of Edina and Edina Morningside and takes place at Edina Country Club. The project date is Wednesday, November 24, 2021, and includes lunch, basket preparation and delivery. If you participate in all activities, your time commitment is about two hours.

Below you will find preliminary information about this project and schedule. Additional information will be available in early November. For now, please take note of the following.

Donations

You are being asked to donate food, funds and warm clothing to include in Thanksgiving Baskets. Typcially this list includes canned green beans, canned corn, canned yams, oranges, bread, ... A specific list of foods that are needed will be provided in early November.

11:30 Community Luncheon

(paid for EMRC members as you meal would be that week). You are welcome to bring guests to eat lunch and pack/deliver baskets with you. You will be billed for additional lunches on your upcoming invoice.

Following lunch at about Noon

Basket teams will be called forward to pack their basket/s. Once your basket/s are packed, you will leave directly and delivery to your assigned homes/families. All baskets will be packed and everyone will be on their way by about 1:30 p.m. or 2:00.
