Eligibility for Honorary Membership:
 
Persons who have distinguished themselves by meritorious service in the furtherance of Rotary ideals and those persons considered friends of Rotary for their permanent support of Rotary’s cause may be elected to honorary membership in this club.
Honorary Members
Heather Haen Anderson – Past President of the Rotary Club of Edina Morningside.  Heather was co-sponsor of our 20th Anniversary Hangar Dance.  She continued to serve in the club officer rotation despite increasing health battles. Hedda is now living in Mexico, and is both an honorary member of Edina Morningside and a member of Playa del Carmen Seaside club. She is proud to be in a club that focuses on the well being of children.
 
 
 
 
 
Mark Shockey - Past President & Club Administrator.  He served as Vocational Service Chair, Membership Chair, Public Image Chair, District 5950 Public Image Chair, Membership Chair and long time webmaster for our Club, District, and Rotary Zone. A Rotary member since 1989, Mark is a Rotary Foundation Major Donor and a member of the Paul Harris & Polio Plus Society. He assisted behind the scenes for many club fundraisers, and sat on the Board of the EMRC Foundation. When DG Tom Gump founded the Rotary Club of Minnesota Veterans, Mark transferred his membership to serve as an advisor to this newly chartered club. Mark served as District 5950 Governor in 2025-2026.
 
 
Paula Schwartz maintained perfect attendance as a member of the Rotary Club of Edina Morningside. She served as a faithful member of our Board of Directors providing leadership as Chair of the International Service area. She traveled globally in the name of Rotary for various Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Youth Education, and Health projects. She participated in any and every Rotary service opportunity in the community, served beyond the club in District 5950 activities. Paula is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Paul Harris Society.  Her impact as an Audiologist is recognized around the world.
 
 
Bob Seeger joined the club in 1992 and demonstrated years of Service Above Self. Bob is a retired Commercial Architect brining great perspective into the club and providing assistance and guidance on service projects, especially championing the Edina ABC student residence. Bob was president of the club in 2002-2003. Bob and Karen met on a blind date at the University of Nebraska, and were married in 1969 in Sioux Falls, SD. Bob has been a great friend to many and is proof of a top reason people stay in Rotary: lasting friendships!
 
 
 
Mark Moore was a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Edina Morningside serving as president in 1994-1995. Mark's classification is retired Commercial Real Estate as a Senior Associate for Calhoun Properties. Mark was generous sharing the first juicy red ripe tomato of the season every year from his garden auctioning it off for big bucks!  As chair of Community Service Committee, Mark championed highway cleanup along Highway 100 writing humorous emails to recruit helpers of all ages. Mark maintained perfect attendance.
 
 
 
 
 
Member pictureTed Field is a long time EMRC member joining the club in 1993. He served as Club President 2005-06. Before retirement, Ted served the community as a Realtor/Relocation specialist working with seniors. Ted will be remembered for starting Warm Hands Warm Heads Warm Hearts, an effort that has given thousands of hats and gloves to those in community for decades. He coordinated the distribution of hats and gloves to many area Rotary clubs. Ted gladly encouraged generosity through his role on the Rotary Foundation Committee. He was also one of the originators of "Rotary Cares" a team who provides care and attention to Rotarians and their families in their time of need. Ted lives in Owatanna.
 
 
 
Guy Logan willingly spent years as the EMRC Foundation Treasurer for many years. As a business consultant, based out of Chicago, IL, Guy spent most of the week away from Edina. Yet Logan Consulting's logo has been on every fundraiser sponsor program for years! Guy helped coordinate the Golf Tournament and Camp Enterprise. He served as Club President in 2008-09. There were several Edina High classmates who were all part of the club. While volunteering at an elementary school in the Jr. Police program, Guy recruited a Rotary member who later became District Governor.
 
 
 
 
Steve and Liisa Schmitt are two of several husband / wife teams in Rotary through the years. Lisa joined first in 2016 and Steve followed the next year. Quick to sign up to a variety of service projects, in 2026, they began a new adventure traveling to Nepal in the Peace Corps for 2 years. They are focused on food security and are living with a host family during their time overseas. Watch the newsletter for updates from the Schmitts.
 
 
 
Dick Crockett was inducted as a member of Edina Morningside Rotary Club in 2005; Jim Hovland is his Rotary sponsor. Dick served as Executive Director of the Edina Community Foundation until his retirement in 2024. His connections to organizations and grant recommendations have kept us connected to the community. Through his professional networks, Dick arranged powerful speakers for club meetings as program chair. Dick is a dedicated Rotarian, stepping in to help put projects over the top. He is an attorney and always has a poem up his sleeve.
